After the break-up of his previous band Fish Tank, quitting his day job as an admin assistant, and the subsequent quarter life crisis, Ed Wetenhall retreated into his attic and began writing…
With the few broken and battered instruments available, he used his crippling fears, dry wit, and tentative optimism to write and record an LP.
The result of this self- imposed exile and reflection is his debut album ‘Shame’, a hook filled, lo-fi exploration into adulthood, anxiety and what it means to be a hopeless romantic in 2018.
Dirty and homebrewed, Shame is as uplifting and infectious as existential anxiety gets.
All written, performed, recorded, and mixed by Ed himself.
“Ed The Dog’s debut album ‘Shame’ is rammed full of indie bangers”
“This is one of those hands in the air songs, a super catchy groove that you just can’t shake off without jumping up and down.””
“Shame” is a lo-fi exploration of adulthood from Ed The Dog. With a few battered instruments and some tinpan recording gear, Ed Wettenhall has crafted his own choatic world full of analog fuzz and warm melodies.”
“Upbeat indie in the vein of early Bombay Bicycle Club complete with smart lyrics, ‘Everybody, I Love You’ is a tune for the onset of T-shirt weather: an ode to looking hopefully at the sky out of an open window.”
“Ed The Dog gives us a slacker anthem, four minutes of existential crisis contained within a pop song, complete with key change in the last quarter, we’re absolutely here for it!”
